Wiltshire Museum features first ever crop circle research exhibition

From the 21st of June until the 31st of August, 2014 the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes is presenting “Exploring the Mystery and Beauty of Crop Circles” as this year’s annual Summer Exhibition. Compiled and curated by Dutch and German crop circle researchers Monique Klinkenbergh and Andreas Müller, it is the first time ever that the crop circle phenomenon and the research behind it is featured in a exhibition in a historic museum. Together with the exhibition that was officially opened last Friday by MP Claire Perry, the Wiltshire Museum also hosts the “Crop Circle Access Centre” as an information centre for crop circle interested visitors and tourists in search for information about the latest crop circles and information about which examples can be visited and how.

“Beside spectacular large-size prints of some of the work of the best national and international crop circle photographers the exhibition gives insights and detailed background information about the state of research into this fascinating phenomenon”, Andreas Müller explains. “The exhibition presents description of eyewitnesses to genuine (not man-made) crop circles forming within just a matter of seconds. We explain the results of laboratory analysis of plants and soils from crop circle sites that show unexplained changes. The exhibition presents the geometry within and behind the patterns and of course the true history of the phenomenon that – unknown to most – dates back many centuries. Furthermore we discuss the most popular explanation theories for crop circles and also the man-made side of the coin and the way in which crop-circle-inspired human ‘land-art’ has influenced not only the public view, but also research and mainly the image of the phenomenon presented by the mass-media.”

“The concept of our exhibition is based on the idea that there is a genuine, not man-made phenomenon”, adds Monique Klinkenbergh. “For this view, we present evidence and background facts. Over the last three decades printed and aired media presented the phenomenon mostly as the result ‘Dough and Dave’, the two elderly tricksters who suddenly appeared on the scene in 1991, followed by students and hoaxers. With our exhibition in the Wiltshire Museum we also want to set some records straight from a research point of view.

At the same time while the exhibition is running, the Wiltshire Museum also hosts Klinkenberghs “Crop Circle Access Centre” (www.cropcircleaccess.com) that offers information on the latest crop circles and about which ones can be visited in agreement with the owning farmer.
Based on the scheme of a visitor’s tax – but on a voluntary basis – visitors can buy a so-called “Access Pass” for just 10 Pounds (about 13 Euro) that allows them to enter those crop circle fields of which the owning farmer is giving access under the pass-scheme. The money raised with this scheme then goes back to compensate the participating farmers for their loss of crop and damage caused by the visitors – while some of the farmers give back their part to local charity projects.

However, the Access Pass scheme is much more than a simple crop circle visitor’s tax, Klinkenbergh explains: “For the last three decades there was no coordinated system that took care for the interests of both sides: the wishes of crop circle interested tourists to visit the circles and at the same time the trouble of the affected farmers, their damaged crop, disrespected property and loss.
After many years in which especially the farmers suffered more trouble than pleasure over the crop circles in their fields and in special about so many unrequested and unwanted visitors, two years ago some of the farmers decided to cut new crop circles out as soon as they were discovered. While this is more than understandable from the farmer’s point of view, it is in the same time a dramatic loss for the research and documentation of this normally beautiful and peaceful phenomenon and of course also a loss for the local tourism.”
While the most tourists do not come to Wiltshire only because of the crop circles, the circles are definitively an important and additional attractor in the county of ancient monuments such as Stonehenge, Avebury, Silbury Hill, the West Kennet Long Barrow and so many other ancient sacred sites.

“With the ‘Access Pass’ we do hope that we can bring back relaxation into the relationship between the farmers, researchers and crop circle tourists”, Klinkenbergh explains. “Of course the crop circle exhibition in the Wiltshire Museum has the same intention: Many farmers and people living next door to crop circle fields know amazingly little about this amazing phenomenon. With this exhibition we want to give something back to the local community and set some false records straight from the viewpoint of crop circle research.”
Since the early 1980s the crop circle phenomenon causes interest, sensation, speculation and controversial discussions even within the science community. While sceptics view the crop circles as nothing but one of the biggest hoaxes ever – researchers into the topic compiled a wide range of facts and evidence that altogether draw a different image.
One example of this is the fact that the true history of crop circles dates back much longer than the late 1970s: “We find descriptions of what we would call today ‘crop circles’ already in undated fairy tales and folk lore”, Müller explains. “First documents described crop circles already in the 16th and 17th century and in 1880 the scientific journal ‘Nature’ described crop circles in Surrey.”

Every year between 100 and 200 new crop circles are reported worldwide. So far nearly 10.000 crop circles and formations in more than 60 countries around the globe were documented.
Beside eyewitness descriptions of genuine (not man-made) crop circles forming within a matter of seconds, anomalous changes have been found in laboratories comparing plant and soil (1, 2) samples from the inside of many crop circles with the control samples taken from outside the circles in the unaffected field. It has been shown that – contrary to what some skeptics claim – such described anomalies cannot be explained by mechanical flattening or as the result of natural recovery processes of once flattened plants. The anomalies can also be reproduced in laboratories using microwave radiation and were described in peer-reviewed scientific journals (1, 2, 3).

Search continues for those behind UFO street signs

By Brittni Smallwood, News 4 Reporter

EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) – It’s been days since the mysterious alien signs vanished from the streets of East Aurora and no one knows who took them down.
East Aurora Police explained that they have no suspects.
It appears as though the signs are gone without a trace. The same way they showed up.
“I think it’s a high school kid. I hear they were really high end. So that’s something a high school kid may not have been able to afford,” said Allie Hartwick who’s wondering where the signs came from.
“There have been a lot of rumors. I don’t know, “said Gary Grote, the President of the East Aurora Chamber of Commerce.
“I think that people are maybe just trying to pull a prank” added Kayla Baines.
The signs showing UFOs beaming up livestock may be gone, but many still remember the first time they saw them.
“It was weird. I was in the car with my dad going to camp in the morning and I was like ‘Dad look!’,” said Alexa Hausauer of East Aurora.
Kelly Maciejewski, also from East Aurora jokingly said, “I thought they were spaceships coming and we were being prepared. That’s what I thought.”
However some people in town for the annual Reunion Weekend didn’t get a chance to see them but they heard about them.
One woman explained that she’ll try to get to the bottom of this at her reunion.
“I think I’ll be able to talk to a lot of people I graduated with and hear their theories. A lot of people that I graduated with stayed in East Aurora so I’m sure they’ve got plenty of ideas about who’s putting those up,” said Hartwick.

Alien signs in East Aurora have vanished

By Emily Guggenmos, News 4 Reporter

EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) – The alien signs that were popping up all over East Aurora have vanished since our story first aired on Monday.

No one who knows who took them down or put them up. The alien signs that had people talking around East Aurora are just gone.
“They were elusive. They’d appear and then they’d disappear,” said Rick Ohler.
“We usually hear everything and I haven’t heard any word on the street who’s doing it,” said Highway Superintendent Dave Gunner.
While the signs may be gone, the chatter is not.
“We don’t know much about the aliens. We were hoping they’d be here this weekend, but I guess not. I heard they’re gone,” said resident Paula Messner.
The East Aurora class reunion is taking place this weekend so there’s speculation the signs were put up for that.
“I think our class was kind of in to UFOs and aliens and that kind of thing,” said Ellen Soper, who graduated in 1974.
Ohler, who writes for the East Aurora Advertiser, has a pulse on the town. He has his own theories centered on how the village is a chic, cool place to be.
“We are now so popular that actually aliens are coming to see how we do things how we run a community,” said Ohler.
He also has another theory.
“East Aurora has gotten so popular that we are really trying to discourage people from coming here so we put these signs up so you’ll think we’re all nuts.”
Village of East Aurora Mechanic Mike Williams was sent out to remove the signs earlier this week.
“This is the only one we found. I don’t know I think people are looking for them.”
East Aurora Police say they don’t have any leads.
“It is a little bizarre for a small town, especially in East Aurora because everybody seems to know everybody else’s business, but sooner or later we’ll probably get a break on it,” said Lt. Jack Wolff.
At this point, everyone could be a suspect.
“I am not saying. I couldn’t possibly be responsible,” said Ohler.
People are also putting their theories of where the signs came from on our News 4 Facebook page, one of which was that the Flying Saucer Pizza company from Massachusetts was coming to town. We called the pizza joint, who said they are not setting up shop in East Aurora.

Can this UFO sighting be linked to Wiltshire crop circle?

By TristanCork
Western Daily Press

A woman says she has been left ‘freaked right out’ after she saw a strange light in the sky – then heard that not only had a friend seen it too, and photographed it, but that a mysterious crop circle had been discovered the following morning.
Jo Webb said she and her friend Lisa Willcox were returning home to Malmesbury from an evening trip to Cirencester on the first Monday night of July, when she saw a strange light in the sky.
“I was driving and I spotted a bright orange light in the sky to the right at an angle of about 45 degrees,” she said. “We were driving down the A429 just approaching the Charlton Park Estate and it was away to the south west.
“It looked like something exploding in the sky, really bright and fiery. I was looking at it as best I could, while driving. It wasn’t moving and it was there for a while. I looked at the road, looked back and it just vanished completely,” she added.

“It was really weird, and we just didn’t know what it was. But then the weirdest thing happened. A week later I discovered that the morning after we saw that light, a crop circle was discovered in the fields nearby,” she said.
That crop circle has been assessed by crop circle devotees and was discovered in a field to the east of where Jo was when she saw the light. It is located just off Tetbury Lane, the country road that borders the northern side of the Charlton Park Estate. The crop circle is one of very few to have been discovered north of the M4 in north Wiltshire – the vast majority of crop formations happen in the Vale of Pewsey and south Wiltshire.
“I found a Youtube video of the crop circle and posted it on Facebook, and said I had seen a light in the sky that night, and to my amazement, a friend of mine had not only seen the same light that night, but also took a photograph of it,” she said.

“I don’t know what it was, I couldn’t think what it could’ve been. It wasn’t a plane or a helicopter, some people have said it could’ve been a flare, but it didn’t look like one and the picture my friend posted show a defined shape to it. After seeing the crop circle and the photo, I am freaked right out,” she added.

Reports of UFO over Toronto - flashing lights confound sky-watchers

By CTVNews.ca Staff

Speculation is swirling on social media after strange, flashing lights were spotted over north Toronto on Saturday night.
North York residents took to Twitter to report the colourful lights moving in the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue area. Toronto Police confirmed receiving some calls about the flashing pink, green and white lights spotted in a single diagonal line.
A video of the lights was posted on YouTube Saturday by Sarah Chun, who described what she saw as: "A really bright orbital object...glowing!"

Theories over what the lights could have been included Chinese lanterns, drones, a kite with lights attached, or UFOs.
A North York resident named Alejandro told CTVNews.ca that he saw some kids in a park preparing a kite with a light rig attached on Saturday evening.
"After it got dark, a couple of hours later, I notice a line of lights," he said via email. "(It) looked like a very potent laser pointing vertical to the sky, but it was the kite these people were preparing."
Alejandro, who asked that his last name not be used, said he later saw the lights starting to descend to the ground.

Others speculated that the lights may have been flying lanterns that were released to mark the end of Ramadan.
And a tweet from a Toronto police officer with 32 Division on Saturday night had some speculating whether the light was coming from a "quadcopter"

Christian Nash, founder Ufo Cromer Watchgroup, is searching for answers after he claimed more than 50 objects appeared in a photograph he took of Norfolk’s skies. Picture: CHRISTIAN NASH

Christian Nash, of St Mary’s Road, started the group two years ago because of his “interest in the subject for a number of years”.

Since then he claims to have seen a number of unusual things, such as witnessing black triangles - a class of UFOs which have reportedly been observed from the 1940s to the present.
And earlier this month, while observing geoengineering - the production and use of subsurface earth resources - Mr Nash believes he discovered a number of objects within a photograph he took in Thorpe Market on July 8 at around 8.30pm.
“I was photographing chemtrails - the white lines planes leave behind,” he said. “The photo highlights over 50 UFOs surrounding aerosol disbursement.
““Obviously they could be anything. At the end of the day they are UFOs but that does not mean they are aliens.
“I’ve come across people taking pictures of geoengineering before and had other things come up in the pictures. For me, it was coincidence getting that picture and I think there is some sort of connection there, but it is down to people to decide.”

Kickstarter Project: The Space Less Traveled - Astronaut Ed Mitchell Documentary

Edgar Mitchell's return from the moon in 1971 was a revelation, setting the course for a lifetime of ceaseless exploration.
"We went to the Moon as technicians; we returned as humanitarians." - Dr. Edgar Mitchell

ABOUT THE MOVIE
The Space Less Traveled is a feature length documentary about Apollo 14 astronaut and sixth man on the moon, Edgar Mitchell, whose three day return flight to Earth in 1971 was a revelation, shaping the rest of his life. The Space Less Traveled shines a light on Ed’s ceaseless exploration since his return, focusing on his work as a scientist, philosopher, author, poet, and humanitarian. With unprecedented access, we’ve spent the last year filming Ed and his closest friends, colleagues, and family. This has culminated in numerous never before heard stories and insights. Ed’s pursuits in the areas of consciousness, healing, sustainability, cosmology, extraterrestrials, and the paranormal have made him an outsider to many, and an icon to others. Previously unknown information about Ed’s days in NASA are revealed, and serve as a launching pad for a lifetime of achievements, from Ed's formation of The Institute of Noetic Sciences, to his current mission of harnessing zero point energy, and everything in between. The Space Less Traveled promises to be an enlightening, fun biopic about one man's ceaseless exploration.
The DVD copy of our movie will include dozens of complete interviews with various fascinating people, along with a commentary track detailing the making of this film.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
We have been in production and filming for just over a year and have exhausted our funds. This is where you can help! We have big plans for the next 6 months of production, which includes Ed meeting with someone very special. Your backing will go towards hiring an editor, mixing & mastering, color correction, licensing video, gear, and covering filming expenses. The target we've set is the lowest figure on which we can bring this film to completion. Any additional funding will go towards additional filming, soundtrack licensing, film festivals, distribution, and extra rewards for our backers.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON’T REACH OUR GOAL
If we don't reach our goal then we receive nothing, no rewards will be sent, and you will not be charged. You are only charged if we meet or exceed our goal. We must reach or exceed our goal or this film will not be finished.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE GO OVER OUR GOAL
We are asking for the bare minimum amount of money we need to finish this film. If we can exceed our goal then we will use those funds to create an even better and more comprehensive documentary. We will be able to use better equipment, travel to more locations, and interview people that we may have not been able to before. In addition to that we will be able to provide higher quality rewards and give back more to you.

Risks and challenges  Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

We have dozens of hours of footage with Ed, and dozens more with his friends, family, and colleagues. As production continues it will become increasingly difficult for our editor to put together a movie that is brisk, insightful, funny, and focused. There is a wide range of topics, and a lifetime of tragedies and triumphs, so it will take a skilled editor to do the material justice. To aid in this process we will be editing a rough cut of the movie to serve as a guideline for our eventual editor.

Mysterious UFO street signs appear in East Aurora

By Emily Guggenmos, News 4 Reporter

EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Some strange signs are popping up in East Aurora. Nobody seems to know where they came from. The signs depict UFOs “beaming up” livestock.
People have been spotting the signs since the beginning of the summer, but no one has caught whoever is hanging them. “I don’t know whose idea it is or maybe the aliens put them up, who knows,” said Bill Bernhardi. Alien signs have been popping up in the village, including one in front of Bernhardi’s home on Gypsy Lane. “I was looking out for crop circles. I was just checking to make sure the gravitational field around here is the same as everywhere else, but I’m keeping my eye open,” he joked.
Mayor Allan Kasprzak has his suspicions of who’s responsible and he doesn’t think it’s the work of aliens. “I believe it might be the East Aurora Food Cooperative that’s trying to get off the ground. That’s my hunch, but I’m not positive,” he said.
“We didn’t put up those signs to generate buzz, but we have put up other signs to generate buzz,” said East Aurora Cooperative Market Project Manager Shelia Convoy.
Maybe more important than who put them there, News 4 wanted to find out if the warning of UFOs abducting cows bore any merit. “I’ve never responded to an alien abduction of a cow, no,” said East Aurora Fire Chief Roger LeBlanc.
A local dairy farmer confirmed, “No, not where they disappeared into the air. They might try and escape occasionally,” said Gayle Thorpe with Thorpe Organic Family Farm.
As for now, the signs remain a mystery.
“It’s kind of funny because I’ve heard all kinds of theories. People were telling me about years past, people saw UFOs but I don’t think it’s going back that far,” said Mayor Kasprzak.
The mayor said technically it’s illegal for people to attach signs to road signs, although he doesn’t see the culprit facing any fines.

Former MEGADETH Drummer NICK MENZA Films UFO From His Front Yard (Video)

By blabbermouth.net/news

Former MEGADETH drummer Nick Menza has captured video footage of what he claims was an unidentified flying object (UFO) outside of his Studio City, California home on Monday, July 14. Check out the clip below.
Says Menza: "I was standing in my front yard with my two boys and this is what we saw. [It had] the shape of a triangular object with rounded tips glowing yellow and white. [I am] not sure what it is, but it looked totally awesome."
During a recent appearance on "Rock 'N' SeXXXy UnCensored", the Internet radio show hosted by adult film star Amber Lynn, Menza spoke about his forthcoming book, which is being written with J. Marshall Craig, best known for his critically acclaimed work as a writer for Eric Burdon's "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", THE ROLLING STONES keyboardist Chuck Leavell's "Between Rock And A Home Place" and the West Coast hip-hop history "Guilty By Association". Menza said: "My book is about me and my life. It includes all kinds of stuff, from my childhood up until just as of recently. And I'm actually adding another chapter to it, probably, because it's taking so long to finalize everything — legal stuff, the cover artwork, the picture that's gonna be used… we're not really sure yet."
He continued: "I don't know what I can tell you about it. There's a lot of funny things in it. It's all true stuff. There's some government conspiracies and alien coverups and all kinds of stuff in there. Now that I'm into space exploration and research stuff — that's kind of what I'm into right now. I've always been into aliens and stuff like that. We are are the aliens and that's why we're here. All the evolution of everything is from alien technology.
"Before, back in the Stone Ages, like when we were just regular humans, we didn't have brains in us and then the aliens came down and they intervened and they put brains in our heads and now we're all smart and we're starting to figure things out, ascending to the next level and a higher level of conscious awareness and that sort of stuff."
Originally announced as "Megalife", Nick's book will now be titled "Menzalife". He explained: "It got changed just as of recently, because I can't use 'Megalife'; someone's already using that name and it's trademarked. No big deal. It's still the same content inside. It's gonna be for sale at the stores and stuff like that. A publisher is gonna put it out. I don't have a deal as of yet, but the book is really cool."
Menza's first performance was at the age of two on stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival when legendary jazz percussionist Jack DeJohnette (Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Joe Henderson) placed Nick on his kit. Thirty years later, he was stepping out on stage in front of thousands of screaming fans every night.
Menza, son of legendary jazz saxophonist Don Menza, was at the top of his game when MEGADETH started a world tour in support of its album, "Cryptic Writings", but began to suffer knee problems and escalating pain. Doctors diagnosed him with a tumor. Surgery waylaid the drummer briefly, but he was relieved to learn the tumor was benign and was eager to rejoin his bandmates, who had continued their tour with a replacement drummer. But deteriorating relations within the band exploded and Menza was replaced permanently.

Vancouver UFO's A Terrestrial Stunt

 By Josh Elliott, CTVNews.ca

Take off your tinfoil hats, Vancouverites.
A pair of unidentified flying objects spotted in the skies over British Columbia have been identified, and they're absolutely from this planet.
Social media lit up Sunday night, with video and photos of a pair of dodging, weaving ribbons of flame in the sky over English Bay in Vancouver. Some suggested they were UFOs, but a stunt airplane company has admitted to being the source of the unexplained lights.

The UFOs were actually stunt planes owned by Alberta-based Team Rocket Aerobatics. The planes were testing pyrotechnics attached to their wings ahead of the Abbotsford International Airshow next month.
"We didn't do anything wrong at all," Abbotsford International Airshow president Jim Reith told CTV News on Monday. "We obeyed all the rules and let all the right people know, so it was perfect."
Team Rocket's planes have firework-like streamers fitted under their wings that create the trails of flame many skywatchers saw.
But while the lights have been revealed to be man-made, the spectacle was still out of this world.

UFO Photographed by Miners in Chile

Published on 17 Jul 2014 By AlienPeace1 - There is GOOD out there

The Chilean government has just released pictures of an encounter which occurred in April of 2013. The pictures were sent to them for analysis by a group of miners who took the photos.
Excerpt from news article:
"The photos were taken at the Collahuasi copper mine, more than 14,000 feet above sea level in the Andean plateau in the far north of Chile. An extremely remote location with low oxygen levels and unusually clear skies, the area is desolate and inhospitable.

Four technicians - professionals specializing in electricity, electronics, and fluid control - were working there in April, 2013. They witnessed a disc-shaped object which approached slowly and was present for more than an hour, moving around in different positions and hovering at about 2000 feet. One technician took pictures with his Kenox Samsung S860 camera. The strange object made no sound, and eventually moved away towards the East."

Contact in the Desert convention set for Aug. 8 in Joshua Tree

Southern California’s Morongo Basin has long been a hotbed for UFO activity, whether real or imagined.
Ever since George Van Tassel, a former flight inspector-turned-ufologist, leased an abandoned airstrip adjacent a seven-story boulder in Landers in 1947, built an inn and began hosting interplanetary conventions, the area has since been a global draw for those who believe, or want to believe.
“As many as 15,000 people showed up for these conventions in the middle of the desert. They would come by plane, automobile, campers, and they would listen to these speakers,” said Barbara Harris, a member of the Morongo Basin Historical Society and expert on the history of Giant Rock, the landmark seven-story boulder where Van Tassell set up shop in 1947.

Van Tassel’s guest speakers claimed to have either been abducted by extraterrestrials or had direct contact with them. They included Daniel Fry, George Adamski, Gabriel Green and Dr. Frank Stranges, founder the of National Investigations Committee on Unidentified Flying Objects, Harris said.
“They were called the ‘contactees’ at the time,” Harris said. “They talked about their experiences. They talked about the government cover-ups. They talked about the X-files.”
Van Tassel himself claimed to have been abducted by aliens. In 1959, he completed construction of his Integratron, a resonant tabernacle he claimed was designed with blueprints personally delivered to him by four aliens who landed at his airport in Landers in 1953 in a spaceship from another planet. Howard Hughes helped fund construction of the project, now a national tourist draw.
In the spirit of the Morongo Basin’s rich UFO history, the Joshua Tree Retreat Center will host the second annual Contact in the Desert, a three-day weekend convention featuring some of the world’s most reputed ufologists and alleged contactees, from Aug. 8-11. Registration is underway, and bookings for this year’s event have more than doubled, said Paul Andrews, an event organizer.
He believes the event’s popularity can be attributed mainly to the popularity of television shows like the History Channel’s “Ancient Aliens” and radio talk shows like the paranormal-theme “Coast to Coast.” The hosts of both shows, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and George Noory, respectively, are among the featured guest speakers at this year’s event.
“The whole UFO question is a huge mystery to the American public . . . , and people want to solve that mystery. They need to know,” Andrews said.
Unlike UFO conventions that tend to draw the proverbial fanatics in foil hats, Contact in the Desert prides itself on taking itself seriously and assembling a pool of leading experts in the field, which can also be attributed to the event’s rising popularity, Andrews said.
Also on this year’s roster of guest speakers include Erich von Daniken, author of the 1969 book “Chariots of the Gods”; Nick Pope, a former official with the UK Ministry of Defense UFO Project; David Wilcock, host of Gaiam TV and author of “The Source Field Investigations”; and Travis Walton, an alleged abductee whose book, “Fire in the Sky,” was made into a feature film.
Andrews said the region’s long history of reported UFO sightings makes it the perfect spot to host such an event.
“What better place to convene a conference exploring some of the greatest questions in human history than an ancient sacred site (Giant Rock) with a long-lived reputation for sightings and contact experiences?” Andrews asked in a news release.
Harris, a Yucca Valley resident of 10 years and former president of the Morongo Basin Historical Society, will give a lecture on the history of Giant Rock and a tour of the site.

She said the Morongo Basin is near the 33rd Parallel North, where many of the world’s UFO sightings have occurred.
Since Van Tassel put down roots in Landers, his legacy has lived on, as have the reported sightings of UFOs.
“Almost all the old timers have seen some kind of mystery craft some time in their lives up there,” Andrews said, adding that the 17-mile loop in Joshua Tree National Park is a popular place for people to gather, to pitch tents or sit in the back of their pickups, sipping beer and searching the sky for unidentified flying objects.

George Noory, host of the radio talk show “Coast to Coast” and who succeeded Art Bell, will be opening up this year’s event via Skype on Aug. 8 and then speaking in person in panel discussions on Aug. 9. He said Joshua Tree serves as the perfect locale for the event, which coincides with the Perseid meteor showers.
For the nonbelievers and skeptics who often scoff at the idea of little green men with almond-shaped eyes traversing the solar system, visiting Earth and abducting or examining humans as some sort of intergalactic scientific research project, Noory said such skepticism is actually a good thing.
“I think skepticism is healthy. If you can go in with an open mind, not believing everything you hear, that is much better than a blind believer,” Noory said.
Noory, however, is no skeptic.
“Life is just too complicated to be randomly done without some intelligent force behind it,” Noory said, adding that some call that intelligent force the work of God, while some believe it is the work of alien life forms visiting Earth in vehicles that far surpass the technologies of modern man.
“There is something that put this altogether, and they did it very well,” Noory said.

Buzz Aldrin Opens Up About 'UFO' Encounter, Mars Colony Hopes

Even 45 years later, Buzz Aldrin has detailed memories of the Apollo 11 mission, when he became the second man to set foot on the moon.
The ex-astronaut, who is speaking out this month ahead of the 45th anniversary of the 1969 moon landing, discussed the mission, his "UFO" encounter, and more in a Reddit AMA on Tuesday.

Dishing about the moment he saw an "unidentified" object floating outside his Apollo capsule, Aldrin wrote:
On Apollo 11 en route to the Moon, I observed a light out the window that appeared to be moving alongside us. There were many explanations of what that could be, other than another spacecraft from another country or another world -- it was either the rocket we had separated from, or the 4 panels that moved away when we extracted the lander from the rocket and we were nose to nose with the two spacecraft. So in the close vicinity, moving away, were 4 panels. And I feel absolutely convinced that we were looking at the sun reflected off of one of these panels. Which one? I don't know. So technically, the definition could be "unidentified."
Aldrin first recounted his UFO anecdote during a Science Channel program in 2005. At the time, UFO enthusiasts were apparently upset that Aldrin had not shared the information sooner.

During his Reddit AMA, Aldrin also took time to proclaim his hope that humans will travel to Mars in the near future.
"There is very little doubt, in my mind, that ... the next monumental achievement of humanity will be the first landing by an Earthling, a human being, on the planet Mars," Aldrin wrote, adding that he expects an international team to establish a presence on the red planet.
Aldrin added that a "collection of the best" individuals from around the world should land on Mars and establish a permanent settlement, rather than representatives of a private company with an eye on space tourism -- such as Elon Musk's SpaceX.
Wrote Aldrin:
I have considered whether a landing on Mars could be done by the private sector. It conflicts with my very strong idea, concept, conviction, that the first human beings to land on Mars should not come back to Earth. They should be the beginning of a build-up of a colony / settlement, I call it a "permanence." A settlement you can visit once or twice, come back, and then decide you want to settle. Same with a colony. But you want it to be permanent from the get-go, from the very first.
Should NASA send astronauts back to the moon? Aldrin said that's probably not the best use of resources. Instead, he said, the U.S. should direct its focus further into space and establish colonies and labs on Mars.

Pioneer to make UFO series for NGCI

By Jon Creamer

National Geographic Channels International has commissioned Pioneer Productions to produce Invasion Earth (8 x 60’).

The series examines why there have been so many reported sightings of unidentified aircraft and mysterious airborne objects with very little explanation.

The show will use dramatic reconstruction of sightings from across world, first-hand accounts from eyewitnesses and previously classified official documents.

Hamish Mykura, Executive Vice President and Head of International Content for NGCI, says: “Invasion Earth reveals the remarkable stories of amazing, in-depth investigations conducted by government agencies and other authorities to uncover the truth behind massive UFO sightings whose otherworldly spectacles were widely reported by witnesses.”

Kirstie McLure, Managing Director, Pioneer Productions, says: “There has always been a deep fascination with UFOs, aliens and the unknown and many TV programmes speculating on this phenomenon. In this series, Pioneer applies science and expert knowledge to explain the truth behind the reports. Pioneer has always created ambitious factual content, and Invasion Earth sees us stepping into unchartered programme-making. Our passion and expertise in exploratory documentary-making and high-quality science programming sees Invasion Earth strive to captivate audiences with its informative and investigative blend of eyewitness accounts and dramatic recreation.”

Invasion Earth was commissioned by Hamish Mykura for National Geographic Channels International. The executive producers for Invasion Earth at Pioneer Productions are Robert Strange and Kirstie McLure.

Do Indian Cave Paintings Show Prehistoric Alien Abductions?

By Paul Seaburn

It’s a story made for a Bollywood sci-fi musical starring Will Smith as an dancing alien fighter. An archeologist in India claims that 10,000-year-old cave paintings are depictions of UFO landings, alien visits and possible prehistoric alien abductions and has asked NASA and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) for research assistance.
The paintings are in caves near the town of Charama in Chhattisgarh, a state in central India known for its cave artworks. Most of them are the usual drawings of humans, animals and everyday life in 8,000 BCE. Some of the animals are odd – kangaroos and giraffes not native to India and fish that are part human, or vice versa.
According to the Times of India, archaeologist JR Bhagat recently found new paintings of even stranger creatures. Here’s his description:
The paintings are done in natural colors that have hardly faded despite the years. The strangely carved figures are seen holding weapon-like objects and do not have clear features. Specially, the nose and mouth are missing. In few pictures, they are even shown wearing space suits.
Some of the figures are wearing what look like helmets and have things sticking from their heads that could be antennae. Near them is a disc-shaped object on what appears to be three legs that could depict a spacecraft.

Indian cave art showing beings with what appear to be helmets and antennae.

According to Bhagat, locals tell stories of “rohela people” or “the small ones” who would descend from the sky in a roundish flying vehicle and abduct a couple of villagers who were never seen again.
Bhagat’s fellow archeologists disagree with his speculations, pointing out that many caves have similar images that are most likely traditional shamanic images of figures with antlers on their heads or spirit rays shooting from them.
Bhagat is patiently waiting for a visit from NASA. This sounds like the perfect job for Buzz Aldrin.

Tourists Enter Area 51, Surrounded by Armed Military Officers

By Paul Seaburn

Is Area 51 the Hotel California of secret U.S. military bases where visitors – even accidental ones – can check out but never leave? That’s what riders on an Area 51 tour bus that normally just creeps right up to the fence feared when their vehicle was surrounded by armed military officers who informed them that they were inside the base and in big trouble.
Area 51 is, of course, the military base north of Las Vegas known for its secret aircraft testing and rumored UFO storage. According to a report by KLAS TV in Las Vegas, the poor tourists were on a bus operated by Adventure Photo Tours, one of the many companies offering tours of the outer perimeter of Area 51 with stops at the Extraterrestrial Highway sign, the Little A’le’inn, the alien and UFO gift shop and the gate. Apparently driver Denis Ryan got distracted and he and his four passengers innocently passed the signs warning of the possibility of deadly force.

The officers detained the bus until local deputies from Lincoln County, Nevada, arrived to cite everyone for trespassing, a misdemeanor with a possible $650 fine. Fortunately for them, the tour company had a secret camera – actually, two of them, one outside on the hood facing forward and one inside recording the driver and passengers.

They were shown to the county District Attorney Dan Hogue who agreed that the out-of-state tourists were innocent. Unfortunately, driver Denis Ryan was fined and will not be able to drive an Area 51 tour bus for two years. The company was let off the hook after agreeing not to release video from the forward cameras showing the military officers in a white truck.
The tourists are safely back at home and have no abduction stories to tell. Well, none that they can remember.
