AlienCon 2018, a three-day fan event inspired by HISTORY®’s hit series Ancient Aliens®, opens at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, in just two weeks, June 15-17, 2018. Presented by A+E Networks® and Mischief Management, AlienCon is dedicated to seeking the truth about extraterrestrial existence throughout history and solving the mysteries of the universe.
The event will feature over 150 hours of original programming, sneak peeks, and exclusive panels, including the highly-anticipated HISTORY drama series Project Blue Book and In Search Of. Celebrity Guests include Sean Astin (Stranger Things, The Lord of the Rings trilogy), David Duchovny (The X-Files), Jonathan Del Arco, (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Gates McFadden (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Discovery), and Lost in Space cast members Maxwell Jenkins (Netflix series) Angela Cartwright, Marta Kristen, and Bill Mumy (original series). Exclusive Panel: HISTORY’s Project Blue Book

HISTORY’s upcoming new drama series “Project Blue Book” from A+E Studios is based on the true, Top Secret investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and related phenomena conducted by the United States Air Force from 1952-1969. The series is inspired by the personal experiences of Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a brilliant college professor recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead this clandestine operation (Project Blue Book) that researched thousands of cases, over 700 of which remain unsolved to this day. Each episode will draw from the actual case files, blending UFO theories with authentic historical events from one of the most mysterious eras in United States history. But telling this dramatic tale required deep research, an interview with the last surviving head of Project Blue Book, declassified documents, and clever storytelling to maintain authenticity while allowing the thrills to play out. Get an exclusive sneak peek, and learn from the team behind the show about what really happened, including some of the 12,000 declassified cases and mysterious sightings that truly are stranger than fiction.
The panel will be moderated by Arturo Interian, Senior Vice President of Scripted Programming, HISTORY. Featured on the panel will be Sean Jablonski (executive producer and writer), David O’Leary (creator, co-executive producer and writer), Jack Rapke (executive producer, Compari Entertainment), Paul Hynek (“Project Blue Book” Consultant and son of Dr. Hynek) and Joel Hynek (“Project Blue Book” Consultant and son of Dr. Hynek). Get a sneak peek at the upcoming HISTORY series In Search Of, inspired by the iconic 1970s franchise! This exclusive screening will feature never-seen-before clips from the first four episodes of the series.
Hosted and executive produced by Emmy-nominated actor Zachary Quinto, the series will examine unexplained phenomena from all over the world. UFOs and paranormal mysteries remain relevant as the Pentagon recently acknowledged a secret UFO program which investigated sightings of UFOs from 2007 – 2012. From the mythical to the scientific, each episode will follow Quinto as he investigates a different subject within a dynamic theme – such as alien encounters, mysterious creatures, UFO sightings, time travel and artificial intelligence – and searches for the truth to some of the world’s greatest mysteries. In Search Of will explore enigmas told through the eyes of witnesses and scholars with a personal connection to the phenomenon and include immersive demonstrations and experiments that contextualize each episode’s theme. The original In Search Of series aired from 1977-1982 and was hosted by Rod Serling and later by Leonard Nimoy following Serling’s death.
