UFO Dodges Choppers over London (Video)
By Tom Rose
A video on YouTube shows photos of a UFO dodging
between two military helicopters flying across the skies over London. The silver
orb is caught on two photos which show it advancing across the sky at an
incredible rate, much faster than any balloon or bird.
The YouTuber posting the video claims to have
snapped the two exclusive photos in the early afternoon of a cloudy day in
London and promises to post video of the sighting soon.
The photos evoke the classic era of unidentified
flying object sightings when witnesses were armed with nothing more than still
cameras rather than video cell phones. So the quality is not very good.
But the UFO must be traveling at
tremendous speed considering the distance it travels between the two photos in
which the helicopters advance relatively little.
Enlargement of the object doesn't help much other
than to show it's not a bird, a balloon, a helicopter or a plane. So what is it? Here's the video:

Scientists find extensive water beneath the Martian surface
A new study leads researchers to conclude that there is an extensive amount of water in the interior of Mars–results vastly different from previous estimates.
This study, led by University of New Mexico scientist Francis McCubbin, analyzed Martian meteorites that originated from Mars’s mantle. Carnegie Institution investigator Erik Hauri explains:
We analyzed two meteorites that had very different processing histories. One had undergone considerable mixing with other elements during its formation, while the other had not. We analyzed the water content of the mineral apatite and found there was little difference between the two even though the chemistry of trace elements was markedly different. The results suggest that water was incorporated during the formation of Mars and that the planet was able to store water in its interior during the planet’s differentiation. The research suggests that the volume of water within the Martian mantle is similar to the volume of water in Earth’s upper mantle. According to Phys.org, “the Martian mantle source from which the rocks were derived contained between 70 and 300 parts per million (ppm) water,” whereas Earth’s upper mantle “contains approximately 50-300 ppm water.” Hauri explains that there has been substantial evidence for the presence of liquid water on Mars’s surface, “so it’s been puzzling why previous estimates for the planet’s interior have been so dry. This new research makes sense and suggests that volcanoes may have been the primary vehicle for getting water to the surface.”
According to Phys.org, this new data raises “the possibility that Mars could have sustained life.”
The team’s research is published in the journal Geology.
National Geographic’s “Chasing UFOs”
By Nuke The Fridge
Mysterious lights, crash sites, and close encounters are the basis for the National Geographic Channel’s new eight-part series “Chasing UFOs.” Join a team of pioneering investigators as they push the limits to find the truth behind unexplained UFO sightings. Are we being watched? Is the government hiding information on UFO happenings? Can this team use science and technology to explain mysterious sightings or will the evidence truly be out of this world? These burning questions motivate the Chasing UFOs investigative team to travel far and probe deep into a number of strange encounters previously left unanswered.
Risking it all, the team investigates some of the most compelling UFO sightings in history and discover stunning new evidence that could change everything we believe about this mysterious phenomenon. Ryder, Ben and James push the limits of scientific exploration in their quest to learn the truth behind these incredible sightings. From the desert Southwest, to Florida’s space coast, to Mexico’s Sonora desert and the jungles of Brazil – Ryder, Ben and James risk everything to hunt down clues to explain this phenomenon. While investigating video of a possible UFO in New Mexico, the team ends up at the famed crash site in Roswell where they uncovered tantalizing evidence of a military cover-up. In Arizona while out surveying the skies, Ryder and the team spot a pulsing ring of lights that none of them can explain. Investigating a California military base rumored to be home to unexplained craft, the team is chased away by a mysterious fleet of helicopters. In the steamy jungles of Brazil, Ryder and the team battle the elements to visit the scene of a suspected crash only to find the truth is far stranger than any of them would have imagined. With its combination of adventure, travel and hard-hitting science, this series offers a radical new spin on this unexplained phenomenon. Instead of just stories, Ryder, Ben and James are out to get evidence. And what they uncover could change what we know and believe about another intelligence among the stars.
As a publicity stunt for the series, the National Geographic channel is crowd sourcing a greeting for any extraterrestrials who might be out there, listening, blasting those greetings into the wild black yonder.
Actor Jorge Garcia (“Lost”) recorded his own video for this occasion. Done in a deadpan style, Garcia expresses his wants and desires in the face of a space alien invasion. It’s quite amusing.
What message would you want to broadcast to extraterrestrials?
“Chasing UFOs” Premieres Friday, June 29, at 9PM & 10PM et/pt followed by another all-new episode at 10P et/pt

Secret Access: UFOs On The Record (video)
Every once in awhile the History Channel comes out with well written, well produced documentary on UFOs. I’m not talking about some Ancient Aliens here, I’m talking about the real stuff, stuff like blacked-out government documents, FAA administrators speaking publicly about strange events and cover-ups.
Secret Access: UFOs On The Record3 focuses on those cases that leave even the most die-hard skeptics questioning the government’s explanations.
Some believe the earliest documentation of alien visitation to Earth exists in prehistoric cave paintings and petroglyphs, where drawings of strange humanoid figures feature distinctively non-human attributes and anatomy, including helmets and other accoutrements too advanced to be from the ancient world. From the prehistoric drawings through the Roswell incident, reports of strange and unexplainable sightings in the skies have become part of an unofficial historic record.
With the proliferation of video and photo technology in the modern era, reports of these events along with visual evidence have only increased. 95% of UFO sightings are false, resulting either from misidentification or deliberate hoaxes. But the other 5% cannot be dismissed; SECRET ACCESS: UFOS ON THE RECORD focuses on those 5%. –History Channel
Saucer Spotting: How to Hunt a UFO
By Micah Hanks
Each year, an untold number of individuals report UFO sightings around the world. In spite of the wide variety of locations where people have claimed to see strange things in the sky (including a number of “hot spots” where activity is said to occur more often), it is difficult at very best to guess where and under what circumstances a sighting will occur.
There are the occasional “flaps,” of course, where sightings of an anomalous nature begin to happen with greater frequency around a given locale, such as what occurred near Point Pleasant, West Virginia, in the late 1960s. But imagine if there were some consistent way to discern when a UFO would appear; it would obviously mean that researchers would be able to gather more information about the phenomenon, by virtue of having the ability to prepare for the experience beforehand. That said, are there any ways one can increase the likelihood that they’ll end up seeing a UFO?
Perhaps part of the problem with Ufology is that rather than going to the sorts of places where frequent sightings might take place, researchers instead wait to hear of sporadic sightings, and only visit the area after the fact to try and gather evidence in most cases. But again, this problem stems from the obvious fact that there is little that can be done to increase the likelihood that one will actually see a UFO, let alone know a predetermined time and place that one will appear. Hence, it must suffice as what is generally the most effective method for studying UFO phenomenon, for now.
That said, there are at least a few general tips that one might consider when it comes to the dodgy art of predicting the whereabouts of UFO sightings, which could be helpful in assessing conditions where one is more likely to encounter a UFO. By clicking here and here, you can access a a couple of articles that feature number of ways to increase your chances of spotting strange things in the skies; additionally, a list of alleged hot-spots can be found here.
Among some of the more novel ideas available, there is the suggestion of becoming a hazardous weather spotter. This can be done under programs like the National Weather Service’s SKYWARN program in the United States, though doing so often requires a general amount of training to help develop one’s ability to spot severe storms, in addition to a variety of useful meteorological data and conditions. Additionally, over the last few years a few researchers and websites have begun compiling available UFO data, plotting the information graphically on maps such as this one. Though data of this sort may be useful in spotting trends and locating areas where strange aerial craft are seen most often, don’t be misled by the greater number of sightings reported near highly populated urban areas (where increased sightings only indicate the fact that there are more people present to witness such an event).
