A FORMER Government UFO investigator has revealed how officials shredded the most compelling evidence for aliens that he has ever seen.
Nick Pope claimed a photograph of a metallic spacecraft in the sky over Calvine in Perthshire mysteriously disappeared after the Ministry of Defence got their hands on it.
He added: “This was easily the most compelling UFO photo I’ve ever seen in my life.
“It went to the technical specialists at the Defence Intelligence Staff and elsewhere. Their results of the analysis were that this was a real thing – it wasn’t a faked photo.”
Pope, who ran the Government’s UFO project from 1991 to 1994, said he had the image in his office but it was removed and later disappeared.
He said that when he challenged officials about the photo, they claimed there was no record of it.
Speaking about the spacecraft onBBC Radio Scotland’s Tales of the Unexplained, Pope added: “It was a diamond-shaped metallic craft about 25 metres in diameter and there seemed to be military jets in the background.
“It wasn’t clear whether they were escorting this thing or even maybe chasing it.
“I actually had a copy of this. It was one of the things blown up on my office wall when I was at the UFO project.
“One day, my head of division took it down and locked it in a drawer because he didn’t think we should be displaying something like that.
“When the Ministry of Defence declassified and released its UFO files, which is an ongoing process, those photos and the copies that had been on my wall had mysteriously disappeared.”
He added: “I suspect that certain people thought that this was some secret prototype aircraft, a next-generation stealth that maybe nobody should be seeing.
“And maybe somebody quietly put it through the shredder and thought they were doing us a favour.”

Fourth Reich Rising: Iron Sky and the Nazi UFO Mythos

Many have speculated in the decades following the end of the Second World War that the Axis Powers–namely Nazi Germany–had been involved in the secret production of highly advanced technology and exotic aircraft. According to various sources of rumor and speculation, some of these advanced aircraft, variously believed to have been jet-propelled saucers and possibly even “alienesque” field propulsion discs, were given names such as the “Hannebu” and “Vril,” the latter of these drawing from the ancient traditions of esoterica that many among Hitler’s ranks drew heavily from, both in terms of inspiration, as well as mystical and technological knowledge.
The idea that the Nazis may have been utilizing advanced technologies toward the end of the war is an intriguing prospect indeed. After all, the Ally’s most advanced aircraft had still yet to employ the the use of swept-wing designs and other more efficient construction that the Nazis were indeed exploring already. However, those inclined toward paranoia might wonder if there were other things Hitler’s scientists and aeronautics engineers might have been developing… and perhaps even strangest of all, if there is any existing potential that any such craft or other technologies might have somehow continued on, carefully (and conveniently) behinds the scenes of mainstream science.

This idea, however strange it seems, has obviously remained popular enough, at least, to have garnered Hollywood’s attention; hence the upcoming release of the farcical new alternative history/Scifi yarn Iron Sky features the concept heavily, drawing from the idea of Nazis who had gone into hiding on the dark side of Earth’s moon, in order to regroup and institute an elaborate and several-decades-long plan for revenge against the Earth that scorned them during the 1940s.
This, of course, is wholly fictional; and yet, the notion that Nazi technology and advanced physics they may have been investigating toward the end of the war has nonetheless served well as an alternative, in the minds of some, with regard to the origins of UFO craft witnessed since the late 1940s. For many, this notion seems more plausible than the idea that exotic lifeforms might be the forces behind what may, in fact, only appear to be highly-exotic aircraft seen above Earth at various times. This is likely because the idea of alien visitors, while intriguing, remains an area that is largely unquantifiable in terms of there being any scientific proof to back such claims. On the other hand, while we may never know to what real extent Nazi scientists may have been involved in projects that dealt with such things as anti-gravity, field propulsion systems, and other highly advanced technology, there is little question as to whether they would have shown interest in such things. Again, the question regarding the entire Nazi UFO question is this: how plausible is it that technologies as advanced as what do seem to be described in modern UFO reports could not only have been developed here on Earth, but were already in existence by the end of the 1950s?



During a recent edition of The Gralien Report Podcast, I discussed the various curious potentials associated with the Nazi UFO mythos during an interview with author Joseph P. Farrell, who put things in no uncertain terms: while there is evidence that certain files and documents released over the years may have some relation to alleged “Nazi sciences” of yesteryear, there is very little evidence that anything akin to what we see in films like Iron Sky will have any direct relevance to the reality of the situation. In other words, to suppose that UFOs might emanate from decades-old Nazi science is probably even less likely than to suppose that there may be an extraterrestrial link to the UFO equation.
Of course, when we take into consideration all the potential ties to underground Antarctic bases, strange experiments taking place during the Third Reich, and high-strangeness claims that involve the ongoing and multi-faceted UFO mythos, there will always be proponents of there being some esoteric Nazi connection to the greater UFO mystery… however unlikely the evidence for this may be in reality.

Unusual things in the California skies -- daytime and nighttime -- have people asking whether UFOs are responsible for what seems like extra air traffic.
Writing in the Laguna Niguel Patch, Debbie Sklar wondered if the town is being visited by space aliens as she looked into recent UFO sightings in the southern portion of the Golden State. After hearing about the recent spate of unusual UFO reports in Laguna Niguel, Sklar said, "I am looking up at the sky a whole lot differently once evening rolls around."
Further north, the city of Fresno offers its own UFO encounters in the form of many video images taken by Robert Thorson. Since 2006, Thorson estimated he has videotaped around 200 strange objects and lights in the sky.
"I started watching the stars a couple hours a night and began to notice some things were flying around. I didn't know what they were -- shooting stars or satellites -- but they seemed to be moving closer and getting brighter," Thorson told The Huffington Post.
Now, before your "Warning! Warning! Hoax! Hoax!" signals go off -- and they probably should at this point -- it's important to know that Thorson is physically disabled, which allows him to spend a great deal of time watching the sky, day and night, with camera always ready.
And he's a regular skywatcher for Sanger Paranormal Society, a group that investigates paranormal claims in the Fresno area.
"One of the reasons why some people don't take Robert seriously is because they think his stuff is either computer-generated or Photoshopped, but all he knows how to do technically is to load the video from his camera to YouTube," said Sanger Paranormal Society founder Jeffrey Gonzalez. "Some people think it's all nonsense and must be a hoax. These armchair quarterback debunkers thrash him because they can't see how a guy like this is videotaping so many things."
On March 1, Thorson said he videotaped an airborne object over his tree-lined Fresno neighborhood:

"I saw this reddish-colored object above the houses. I thought it might be a helicopter, so I grabbed my camera while the object seemed to be raising up, going higher," Thorson said. "There were a couple times where it got really bright. It's hard to estimate how high it was, but it looked like a glowing saucer. I can normally hear high-flying jets going by most of the time, but this thing didn't make any noise."
Thorson added that he could see some kind of material streaking out of the back of the object, before the whole thing disappeared.
With so many videos posted by Thorson on YouTube under the name of "kingufokid," HuffPost called on the services of Marc Dantonio -- whose company FX Models creates special devices for the U.S. Navy, Congress and the Joint Chiefs of Staff -- to look at some of Thorson's videos starting with the March 1 object.
"It has all the hallmarks of a rocket launch," Dantonio said. "The bright exhaust plume, and as it was going through the atmosphere, you would see it illuminate stuff as it passed through, just like a launch. Vandenberg Air Force base does night launches all the time."
The next video Dantonio looked at, from February 2011, shows a daytime silver-colored object high in the sky near clouds that seems to morph from one shape to another:

"Whenever someone says they see an object that appears to morph, that means it's moving in a way that people can't tell it's tumbling," Dantonio explained.
"A ship under intelligent control probably isn't tumbling. I think this looks like two mylar balloons that are tied together very closely and are moving at a speed consistent with balloons and catch the light like balloons."
Continuing our Fresno UFO hit parade, a video captured by Thorson in September 2009 shows a group of twinkling lights that change position:

"The key here is that you have to look at the speed at which these are moving," Dantonio said. "Could UFOs just sit and hover lazily through the sky? Sure, but to me, these were moving all over the place, were seen from a long distance and were flashing at a rate consistent with LED flasher balloons that you can buy on Amazon. They just sort of float along and get farther and farther away."
And our final Thorson video sample, from November 2010, shows a "typical" triangular-shaped object:

"Honestly, that was just an aircraft," said Dantonio. "If you look at the lights carefully, the green light changes relative to the other two. What you're seeing is the running light on the wing tip of the plane, sticking out toward the camera. It's actually moving across the sky in exactly the way that you would see a plane at night if all you could see was the lights. This is FAA-mandated lighting."
Whew! And how does Dantonio address the issue where Thorson and other eyewitnesses often report not hearing any sound made by the objects they think are UFOs?
"Many times, if they're jets, for instance, you won't hear the sound until maybe four minutes after it's gone, because it takes time for the sound to come rolling across the landscape and make it to your ears. If it's a light plane with smaller motors, you might never hear it."
Dantonio, who looks at every UFO picture and video with a critical eye, isn't suggesting Thorson is faking his videos.
"I don't think the guy is anything but genuine and is just not informed about some phenomena, and I'd be happy to help him figure out what these things are," Dantonio said. "These skywatchers are invaluable and the people who will be on the front line of discovery are the people who are out there watching, not those who are driving in their cars. People like him are going to be the ones who eventually see a real UFO."
