Houston's alien hunter on a mission / Derrel Sims: Abduction & Implant researcher makes t.v. news

Derrel Sims, a larger than life Texan living near Houston, is an alien hunter.
"I suspect they're living on a massive craft," said Sims.
Sims walks around in a cowboy hat and coat in the middle of the summer.

"They seem to love fear," he added.
Sims claims to be the world's leading expert on alien abductions, whose fascination began as a child.
"My first interaction with these entities was at age 4 in Midland, Texas," Sims said.
After nearly four decades tracking extraterrestrial events, Sims is now a Hollywood star, appearing in a cable TV show called "Uncovering Aliens."
"So I use my skills as an investigator, a former cop, a combat cop in the military and a private investigator," said Sims.
These days he works with a team to investigate reports of alien activity --looking for proof.
"You usually find markings on these people, cuts, bruises, scratches, lumps, bumps, and things that don't make sense," he said.
So what does an alien look like?
Sims says he's seen one face to face.
"The entity was actually right outside my tent. It stood no more than three feet tall and had a head," he said. "Then there's another being that looks like a reptile. There is a human like being that stands six foot."
Yeah, it sounds crazy but Sims says it's serious and no one is immune. He claims one in every four people is abducted by aliens and the victims come from all walks of life.
"You would be shocked, stunned and amazed to find out who's on my list of clients," Sims said. "There are scientists, intelligence people, NASA scientists and others who are abductees. It doesn't make a difference. You can be a genius."
So what puts you most at risk for an alien event? Sims says his research points to a pattern.
Many of the people being taken, that turn out to be abductees, are Native American Indians, Irish, Celtic.
If a relative was abducted, you are more likely to be a victim too.
Sims believes the phenomenon runs in families.
"Go talk to your family privately," Sims said. "You're going to be stunned with what you're going to hear... because if it happened to you, it'll be in your family lineage."
This online questionnaire will help you figure out if you've been taken.
Still not a believer?
Sims says he doesn't care, "Let's just say I would like to capture one of them."
His hunt continues.
"I still have a lot of work to do," said Sims. "I'm an investigator, finding the evidence and doing something with it is my business."

A Die-Hard Issue: CIA's Role in the Study of UFOs, 1947-90

Gerald K. Haines, CIA, Studies in Intelligence, Vol 1 No 1 1997

In late 1993, after being pressured by UFOlogists for the release of additional CIA information on UFOs, (3) DCI R. James Woolsey ordered another review of all Agency files on UFOs. Using CIA records compiled from that review, this study traces CIA interest and involvement in the UFO controversy from the late 1940s to 1990. It chronologically examines the Agency's efforts to solve the mystery of UFOs, its programs that had an impact on UFO sightings, and its attempts to conceal CIA involvement in the entire UFO issue. What emerges from this examination is that, while Agency concern over UFOs was substantial until the early 1950s, CIA has since paid only limited and peripheral attention to the phenomena

Congressional Hearings on UFOs

Only two formal hearings on UFOs have ever been held. Here is a brief overview of those congressional hearings.

Official UFO Enquiries

Space 2001

Over the years the UFO enigma has given rise to numerous official inquiries. Ostensibly these have attempted to search out the truth of the phenomenon as open mindedly as possible.

There is reliable testimony that in August, 1948, the Technical Intelligence Division at Wright-Patterson and Project Sign, decided to make a formal Estimate of the Situation. The Estimate was a top secret document that contained unexplained sightings by pilots, scientists, and other reliable witnesses. The report concluded that UFOs were of extraterrestrial origin.

Special Report of the USAF Scientific Advisory Board Ad Hoc Committee to Review Project 'Blue Book' (The 1966 O'Brien Committee Report)

U.S. Air Force / reprinted by CUFON

Most people with even a passing interest in UFO have heard of the 1953 CIA "Robertson Panel." Fewer people have heard of the 1966 "USAF Scientific Advisory Board Ad Hoc Committee to Review 'Project Blue Book'" commonly known as the O'Brien Committee. Fewer still have read the "Special Report" of the O'Brien Committee, and understand its place in UFO history.

The CIA, Official History, and You: A Study of Gerald Haines and UFOs

Richard M. Dolan, UFO Magazine, Dec/Jan. 2001

In the version we were allowed to read, Haines made two basic points. The first was that, although the CIA was concerned about UFOs until the early 1950s, it has since "paid only limited and peripheral attention to the phenomena." Second, Haines stated that from the mid-1950s until the end of the 1960s, "more than half" of alleged UFO sightings in the United States were actually of classified and/or experimental aircraft such as the U-2 or SR-71 spy planes.

The CIA's UFO History

Mark Rodeghier, CUFOS (Center for UFO Studies)

After the Cold War ended, the culture of secrecy and the operational style of the CIA began to change. Its director appeared on a radio talk show, and it became possible for citizens to pressure the CIA in ways unheard of during that earlier era. Ufology has been a beneficiary of these changes.

Private Mars One Colony Project: 705 Astronaut Candidates Pass Latest Cut

Several hundred would-be Mars colonists have just had their hopes and dreams dashed.
The Netherlands-based nonprofit Mars One, which aims to establish a Red Planet settlement beginning in 2025, announced Monday (May 5) that it had sliced its pool of potential colonists from 1,058 down to 705. The remaining astronaut candidates now advance to an interview round with Mars One's selection committee.
"We’re incredibly excited to start the next phase of Round 2, where we begin to better understand our candidates who aspire to take such a daring trip," Mars One chief medical officer Norbert Kraft said in a statement. "They will have to show their knowledge, intelligence, adaptability and personality." [Images of Mars One's Red Planet Colony Project]

All components of Mars One's settlement are slated to reach their destination by 2021. The hardware includes two living units, two life-support units, a second supply unit and two rovers

William Shatner to write novel on UFOs | William Shatner Interview

Ufo photograph trending on social media may be a lense flare

CBS 6 was contacted via email and Twitter about a photo snapped Thursday at Southpark Mall, that allegedly captured a UFO in the clouds.

Erica Skiddle said was with her mother and sister tonight at the Southpark Mall. They were leaving a department store and exited around 6:30 p.m. to a “weird and ominous” sky.
“My mom and I took several pictures of the sky and while we began looking through our pictures, I noticed in one of mine that there was something,” Skiddle wrote via email. “I had no flash in, nor a filter.”
“And my mom looked through hers and also saw she had whatever it was in one of hers,” she added.

Erica described what she and her mom saw in the pictures as looking “…like there are six little lights, in like a hexagon, I don’t know, it just looks weird.”
According to the National UFO Reporting Center, for as long as they have been keeping records, 1,490 UFOs have been reported in the grand state of Old Virginny.
A UFO hasn’t been reported in the state since February 27, 2014. That one was reported as a triangle shape, seen in Kilmarnock.
The summary of that report was “Large, silent, high-flying speedy aircraft with triangle light alignment frightens skeptic.”

National UFO Alert: Six states report 257 April cases

The National UFO ALERT Rating System has been updated for May 2014, with California, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan moving to a UFO Alert 3 as the highest reporting states with 25 or more cases during the month of April 2014, filed with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).
California was the leading high-reporting state in April with 80 cases, down from 103 March cases, 59 February cases, and 102 January cases. Those states in a UFO Alert 4 category with 13 or more reports include: New York, Missouri, Arizona, New Jersey, North Carolina, Washington, Nevada, Oregon, and Colorado.
All other states move to a UFO Alert 5 category with lower numbers of UFO activity. The Watch States - with 10 or more cases - are Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Alabama, Tennessee and Illinois.
MUFON released April statistics May 1, where the total number of reported UFO sightings is listed by state. The UFO Examiner uses these statistics to rate states. The entire country was moved back to the lowest alert level - UFO Alert 5.

California takes the lead with 80 cases; Florida, 57; Texas, 37; Pennsylvania, 33; Ohio, 25; and Michigan, 25.
Those states with 13 or more reports, the next reporting tier level, are a UFO Alert 4 status: New York; 23; Missouri, 21; Arizona, 21; New Jersey, 19; North Carolina, 18; Washington, 17; Nevada, 16; Oregon, 15; and Colorado, 15.
Our Watch States this month are - with 10 reports or more: Georgia, 12; Indiana, 12; Massachusetts, 11; Minnesota, 11; Alabama, 10; Tennessee, 10; and Illinois, 10.
The sphere remains the most-reported UFO shape with 150 cases, up from 131 March cases, 91 February cases; and 240 January cases. Other shape reports include: Triangle, 83; Other, 65; Star-like, 65; Circle, 57; Disc, 56; Oval, 39; Unknown, 39; Cigar, 29; Boomerang, 28; Fireball, 24; N/A, 23; Cylinder, 15; Diamond, 12; Egg, 7; Chevron, 6; Teardrop, 6; Saturn-like, 6; Cone, 4; Flash, 4; Blimp, 3; Cross, 2; and Bullet/Missile, 1.
The object's distance from the witness includes: Less than 100 feet, 137 cases; 101 to 500 feet, 115 cases; 501 feet to one mile, 165 cases; over one mile, 184 cases; unknown, 219; and no value stated, 22.
In addition, there were "21 landings, hovering, or takeoffs reported and 1 entity observed."
The most interesting UFO reports do not necessarily come from high reporting states - but those states with higher numbers do account for some of the most interesting evidence to study. While UFO sightings seem to pop up randomly around the country, this list is meant to offer a small insight into where Americans are filing reports.
