It’s one of the most famous incidents in British UFO folklore – an eerie incident in 1980

where two American Army personnel claimed to encounter a strange ‘metallic triangle’ near

Suffolk.

In a new video which surfaced this week on the Sun Online, retired Colonel Charles Halt, a

senior commander at the base, admits that the air force men ‘may have been abducted’ and

says they were ‘unaccounted for’ for hours. In 1980, U.S. Army personnel stationed near

Rendlesham in Suffolk claim to have seen a strange, metallic triangle which was ‘dripping

molten metal’ – and witnessed a light like a ‘huge red eye’. Unlike most UFO sightings, it

was documented in voice recordings from senior American soldiers, who also drew

disturbing pictures of the object they saw. One witness claimed to have telepathically

‘received’ a binary code, which has never been deciphered.

Colonel Charles Halt’s original description read: ‘While in Rendlesham Forest, our security

team observed a light that looked like a large eye, red in colour, moving through the trees.

After a few minutes this object began dripping something that looked like molten metal.’

Sceptics claim that the marks of the UFO’s landing are, in fact, rabbit holes.

Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, said, ‘Even today ufologists

squabble over what really happened at Rendlesham Forest in late December 1980. Did an

alien spaceship land here?

UFO pic that inspired a generation to believe in aliens… but turned out to be a hot air balloon in Manchester

THE 'White Tic Tac UFO' caused a stir when it was shown in front of US Government officials

UFO spotters were convinced this image proved the existence of alien life.
The still image of a 'White Tic Tac UFO' caused a stir when it was shown in front of US Government officials and military leaders.
The Tic Tac UFO made news headlines after being shown to US military bosses as 'proof of alien life'

They had been brought together by Blink 182 singer Tom DeLonge for his new To The Stars alien research group - and stared in wonder as the oblong white image flashed up on a giant screen in October last year.
Captured on camera by the US Navy, the 'Nimitz UFO' seemed to "defy the laws of physics" in the way it moved.
To The Stars Academy member Chris Mellon presented it with the words: "Clearly this is not a US experimental aircraft, but whose is it?
"This story may sound like a sci-fi movie, but it is a true story."
The picture was even shown on US news channels.

But a Manchester based UFO sleuth, Steve Mara, claims the unusual shape was little more than a helium party balloon in the shape of a number one

But the truth IS out there...in Eccles, Manchester.
A report by amateur UFO hunter called Steve Mara claims the picture is not of an alien craft, which has travelled light years across the universe to make contact with humans on Earth - but a helium party balloon in the shape of the number one.
He posted his bubble bursting theory on his own UFO blog Rense.com.
Mr Mara told the Express: "Truth of the matter is... it was taken in Eccles, Manchester and I investigated the case.
"Likelihood... it was a novelty balloon, a number 'one'.
"Someone manipulated the photo a little by increasing its brightness."
The image had made its way onto a UFO forum referenced in the To The Stars presentation
Mick West, admin for theory busting website Metabunk, said: "I think the use of that image was a mistake.
"They are just not very good at investigating."

NASA astronaut Jack Fischer who flew to ISS talks about Aliens and UFOs

It would be quite exciting to listen to answers about aliens and UFOs from somebody who had really flown to space and had spent some time in Cosmos. When NASA astronaut Col. Jack Fischer was asked about aliens and UFOs and what other astronauts think about the extraterrestrial life and its existence, Fischer answer was quite simple but interesting. He said that he had not seen any aliens or UFOs yet. He said that he had the wish of encountering aliens or UFOs and if he would have managed to do so, then he would have taken photos. I haven’t! I wish I had. If I had, I would’ve taken pictures; I’d be rich, but I haven’t yet,” said Fischer.
But Fischer believes that there might be other worlds in the universe where there is possibility of the presence of alien life. According to him, as there are innumerable numbers of stars in the Universe, it should not be confirmed that our Earth is the only bearer of life. Fisher stated, “I definitely believe that there are others out there because when you see how many stars there are you can’t possibly think we’re the only ones.”
As Fisher has said that he believes that there is chance of the presence of alien life and UFOs in other stars systems, it can be said that like him many more astronauts might have the same belief about aliens. Astronaut Fisher told all these things at the NASA Glenn Research Centre where he addressed hundreds of people and answered many questions related to space, Mars mission as well as aliens.
When asked about his take on missions to Mars, Fischer said that astronauts will soon travel to Mars and that the path to the Red Planet runs right through Cleveland. He said that he is eagerly waiting to see the summer testing of NASA’s new and most highly advanced Orion spacecraft which will be sent to Mars in the upcoming days. Fisher has spent four and a half months in the International Space Station and came back to earth in the month of September last year.

UFOs could be 'War of the Worlds' threat to Earth claims pilot at centre of Pentagon probe

By

A FORMER US Navy pilot, whose UFO sighting was investigated by a top-secret Pentagon team, has said the phenomenon should continue to be probed in case it poses a "War of the Worlds" style threat to Earth.
David Fravor from Toledo, Ohio, was flying a F/A-18F super hornet off the coast of San Diego while the US Navy tracked mysterious UFOs for two weeks in November 2004.
It was before a bizarre encounter with one of the objects that was later investigated by a multi-million dollar top secret government program looking at mysterious aerial threats.
Details of the Department of Defense Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification £16.5million secretive programme investigating the threat posed by UFOs, and Mr Fravor's case, were revealed last month.
Cmdr Fravor and Lt Cmdr Jim Slaight were two pilots each in an F/A-18F super hornet on a routine training mission 100 miles out over the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego when it happened.
They were with the USS Princeton guided missile cruiser and SS Nimitz supercarrier at the time.
Mr Fravor said it was at the end of a two-week period when the Princeton had been tracking mysterious "Tic Tac-shaped" aircraft that appeared suddenly at 80,000 feet, before shooting down towards the ocean.
They stopped at 20,000 feet and appeared to hover, before dropping off range or heading back upwards.
Speaking to Bostonglobe.com about the implications of the case, known as the Nimitz UFO, Mr Fravor said:“I think the story needs to be told. We need to stop making jokes and start paying attention to it.
“This is not a US problem. This is a global issue. Why aren’t we investigating these things?
"If it’s like ET, then it’s all good. If it’s like ‘War of the Worlds’ or ‘Independence Day,’ then not so much.”
Mr Fravor warned his experience with the UFO had shown him whatever was controlling it had much more superior technology.
He said: "Our technology is way, way behind. I know what I saw, oh yeah it reacted to us."
According to a report from the New York Times, the US Government-funded programme investigated reports of UFOs between 2007 and 2012, including the mysterious Nimitz case of November 2004.
Mr Fravor previously said he looked down to the water and saw waves breaking over an object below the surface.
Hovering about 50 feet above this was a white UFO, about 40 feet long and oval.
Mr Fravor said: "The craft was jumping around erratically, staying over the wave disturbance but not moving in any specific direction."
The water appeared below as if it were boiling.
He launched a "circular descent" to look more closely, and it started to fly up to meet them.
Mr Fravor said: "It accelerated like nothing I’ve ever seen."
The Government-funded investigation into reports of UFOs ran between 2007 and 2012 under military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, on the fifth floor of the Pentagon’s C Ring.
He is now part of the To The Stars Academy, set up by former Blink 182 singer Tom DeLong, to research UFOs.
Chris Mellon, who served for almost 20 years in the US federal government in a series of national security positions roles under presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush, is also part of the academy.
He agrees more needs to be done to understand the UFO threat.
Referring to the Nimitz encounter, he said: "The pilot’s capture gun camera footage and infrared imagery of the object.
"They are outmatched by a technology they’ve never seen.
"The chairman of the Armed Services Committee and his counterparts and other congressional oversight committees can easily request a briefing to confirm the veracity of this story and the existence of other events of a similar nature.
"If the oversight committees have not already been briefed on this event and others like it they clearly should be.
"How else can they adequately assess threats to our forces ad our military requirements?

EXCLUSIVE: Ex-government UFO agent says aliens DO EXIST and addresses ‘cover-up’ claim

Former MoD UFO investigator Nick Pope has given candid answers to his beliefs on aliens.

AN INVESTIGATOR who spent years pouring over the UFO phenomenon for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has spoken exclusively to Express.co.uk about claims intelligent aliens are living here on Earth and the explosive story is covered up by world leaders.

Nick Pope worked for the British MoD from 1985 to 2006, and between 1991 to 1994 ran extensive enquiries into any potential defence threat posed by the UFO phenomenon.
The project was shut down with the conclusion there was no threat.
Now based in the US, Mr Pope tours the globe speaking at UFO and alien-related conferences, as well as describing on documentaries what he has unearthed.
However, when it came to revealing his true beliefs about whether intelligent aliens exist and are here on Earth - but hidden by a global cover up as thousands of conspiracy theorists and so-called truth seekers believe - Mr Pope has always played a close hand.
For years alien believers have claimed the US Government, and possibly others, have encountered visiting aliens, and allowed them to operate unseen in hidden underground bases, from where they research our planet.
In return for this, government’s assess the technology which allows them to get here.
Various theories even suggest a vast array of species live here including reptilians, greys, and the human-like "Tall Whites" or Pleiadians.
High profile believers have included the later NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell and Paul Hellyer, a former Canadian Minister for Defence.
Express.co.uk asked Mr Pope to come clean about his view of this and other theories for the first time, and he did not hold back. The 52-year-old revealed he is convinced aliens exist, somewhere out there in the Universe.
However, in a blow to alien hunters, he said he is NOT satisfied there has been any "smoking gun" evidence that any have ever visited Earth.
And, he categorically said he does NOT believe ANY of the conspiracy theories about aliens secretly hidden in top-secret bunkers and working with global governments.
Scientifically, he is not convinced that aliens could even make it to Earth.
If there are any UFOs arriving from other planets, they "would only be automated probes or craft controlled by artificial intelligence," he added.
We quizzed Mr Pope in the wake of last month's revelations that the US Department of Defence (DoD) had been engaged in a top-secret project to look at the potential threat of UFO from 2007 to 2012.
The US had previously denied any interest in UFOs since the 1960s, but the Pentagon has now confirmed the existence of the Advanced Aerial Threat Identification Program (AATIP).
Mr Pope said: "Like most people who take an interest in the UFO phenomenon, I've thought carefully about my beliefs in the light of the recent revelations concerning the Pentagon's UFO project.
"The story was undoubtedly a major one. The US government had consistently stated they had no interest in UFOs and that UFO sightings weren't being investigated.
"We now know that there was official interest, and that sightings were being investigated.
"Moreover, the Pentagon's AATIP project had amassed some intriguing evidence: testimony from military witnesses, videos of military jets chasing unidentified objects, and alloys and other materials that it's claimed came from unspecified UFO incidents."
He said some of the people involved with this Pentagon project came to believe that a number of these unidentified objects were extraterrestrial in origin.
Mr Pope added: "This is a big deal, and should lead to a reframing of the debate about UFOs. For the time being, however, there's still no smoking gun.
"In many ways AATIP was no different from the British government's UFO project, which I ran in the Nineties: we too had numerous cases with military witnesses; we had photos and videos - on occasion taken with gun cameras from RAF jets; and from time to time we discussed the possibility that some of these sightings might be extraterrestrial in origin."
So where does that leave him on the issue?
He said: "I still can't rule out that possibility, and I'd love it to be true: the world would be far more interesting with aliens than without them.
"However, while I've seen some intriguing evidence, I've yet to see any definitive 'you can take it to the bank' proof.
"So the bottom line is that while I'm sure there's life elsewhere in the universe, I don't know whether or not we're being visited.
"If we are, I suspect we're dealing with automated probes, or craft operated by some sort of artificial intelligence.
"Even if there are flesh and blood aliens out there somewhere, the cosmic radiation and the immense time required to travel interstellar distances probably rules out biological lifeforms making such journeys - unless there's a way around what seems to be the absolute barrier of light speed."
Mr Pope said for the time being, concepts such as warping spacetime or using wormholes "are science fiction and not science fact, so if we're being visited by extraterrestrials, we're probably dealing with machine intelligence and not biological entities”.
Mr Pope added: "I don't believe any of the conspiracy theories that say aliens are already here on Earth, and that they're secretly working with various governments."
