'Prometheus' headed for Zeta Reticuli (Video)

Just as you thought the Ancient-Astronaut-inspired Prometheus couldn’t get any more ‘UFOey,’ a new featurette for the movie reveals that the alien planet to which the human characters travel to meet their makers is none other than Zeta(2) Reticuli.

In the featurette, director Ridley Scott says: "The planet where they go is called Zeta(2) Reticuli, and what they find there is an establishment that is not what they expected it to be,” adding, "this story kind of walks around the truth of what there may be out there... It presents some big questions."

Zeta Reticuli, as any self-respecting UFO buff knows, is a binary star system in the constellation of Reticulum located approximately 39 light-years from Earth. The UFO buff knows this because Zeta Reticuli is also thought by many to be the home system of the so-called “Grey” aliens – an idea that has its roots in the 1961 Hill abduction incident in which Betty and Barney Hill were allegedly taken aboard an extraterrestrial spacecraft in rural New Hampshire and subjected to medical tests. It was the first UFO abduction account to gain widespread media attention and led to several books (the most recent of which is Stanton Friedman and Kathleen Marden's Captured!), a TV movie and innumerable film and TV references.

When the Hills underwent regression hypnosis a couple of years after their abduction experience, Betty recalled being shown a star map by the ETs, which she later sketched from memory at the urging of her psychiatrist. That star map was later interpreted as a depiction of the Zeta Reticuli star system and quickly entered UFO lore. Zeta Reticuli would also be cited in later years as being home to the Greys in connection with Project Serpo and by Area 51 “whistleblower,” Bob Lazar.

With the release of Prometheus this June, Zeta Reticuli is set to break out of the often unfathomable worlds of science and UFOlogy and burst like an alien from a blood-soaked chest into global pop-culture.

Lunar Astronaut Addresses Orb UFO Sightings (Video)

Dr. Edgar Mitchell, a former NASA astronaut and lunar landing command module pilot, phoned in to a UFO sightings conference and offered a professional opinion concerning the explosion of "orb" incidents sweeping the world.

His advice? "Be patient." Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but, interestingly, Dr. Mitchell also disagreed that these orb sightings are new.

Weighing in on the matter over a speakerphone at an unidentified, though recent, conference on the subject, Dr. Mitchell was asked his opinion of the significant increase in the type of sighting becoming known as the "orb" or, even more specifically, the "silver orb" UFO type which have definitely seemed to be on the rise, if videos posted to YouTube are any indicator.

Although this video lacks in audio quality, it's recorded well enough to convey that the former lunar astronaut believes these sightings are nothing new, having been reported for as least as long as he himself has been investigating the phenomenon.

It's hard to say exactly what his position is, and, due to the poor quality of the audio, it's only supposition to conclude this respected and accomplished scientist, who has actually flown to the Moon and back, feels that there may be a singularity, or disclosure event on the horizon.

Is it possible the military is getting ready to unveil a super-secret type of aircraft which can explain the rise in these sightings? It's not clear.

The good doctor can also be heard speculating as to whether these orbs are capable of some technology which gives them the ability to shift their shape or even to "cloak" themselves.

Either event could be explained by new experimental aircraft which the general population cannot even begin to comprehend, or he even may be alluding to contact with another form of life existing in, and navigating through, our own Galaxy and Universe.

No matter the answer, it's a powerful statement from a respected scientist which should propel the legitimacy of this debate into another realm.

No matter what happens, the world is likely to see a great many more "silver orb" videos being posted to YouTube, now that personal communications includes high quality camera phones which are triggering the explosion of sightings alluded to by the questioner.

Video: Five to Eight UFOs in Israel’s Sky Wednesday Night

Moti Gaber, a resident of Kfar Yonah, a suburb of Netanya, Israel, was coming home with his son Wednesday night around 8:00 from the Lag Ba’Omer festivities, when he saw something quite literally out of this world.
“I saw something very strange,” he told the Jewish Press early Thursday morning. “I arrived at the parking bay in my housing complex, I look up and, alongside the top of the buildings, I see these orange balls. They were moving in formation, eight altogether.”
Gaber, who served in the IDF in a combat unit, said he can tell the difference between a fireworks pencil, or flares, and what he saw last night. “It looked nothing like any of those things,” he insisted. “If they were fireworks pencils they would have dropped and evaporated. And they just didn’t look like flares. As to balloons, what can I tell you, it makes no sense for a balloon to move horizontally like that.”
Gaber also didn’t think what he had seen were any kind of aircraft known to him, and he contends the objects were perfectly silent and flew too close together to be planes or drones.
“They disappeared from view, I looked for them behind the buildings and saw nothing,” he said.
The police center for special reports told the Jewish Press there were no unusual reports last night in the Netanya area.



Project aims to send Tweets to ET

A project plans to use Twitter to send messages to extraterrestrials.

Scott Keldall and Nathaniel Stern are the men behind the “Tweets in Space” experimental art project. Mashable.com explains that “The pair plans to collect and transmit all tweets bearing the #tweetsinspace hashtag to GJ667Cc to inform extraterrestrial beings of our culture and society.” The tweets will also reportedly be archived on a website.

To achieve their goal, Keldall and Stern plan to borrow, build, or upgrade a communication system to beam the messages into space. To make this happen, the team is seeking donations through the fundraising platform RocketHub.

GJ667Cc was detected by NASA’s Kepler space telescope, and confirmed as a planet earlier this year. Scientists believe the newly discovered world to be the best candidate for a planet capable of supporting life.
