Gary McDermott snapped the glowing red object, with bright flashing lights, after stopping his car to photograph a low-flying helicopter in Plymouth.
The disc-shaped UFO flashed across the sky - just as he was taking the picture - before it disappeared into the night at 9pm on Sunday.
Mr McDermott, who was working night shifts on the city's famous Royal Albert Bridge, said: "I just couldn't believe what I had just seen.
"It must have been a UFO - and I cannot believe I am saying that because I don't believe in them usually. I am always sceptical.
"But this was definitely not a normal aircraft. It was red, the shape they say UFO aircraft is, and had two bright lights coming out of it.

"It came into shot just as I took the picture - then as soon as I said to my mate 'look what I have just seen', it disappeared.
"Apparently there have been a few other similar sightings across Britain in recent weeks."
On January 6 two mysterious bright lights were spotted floating over Chatham in Kent.
Less than a week later four similar lights were seen over Essex - but none were as clear as Gary's Devon snap.
Devon and Cornwall Police said they had not been informed of any reports of UFO sightings in the area.

Alien watchers will be scouring the skies for otherworldly craft and hoping to test the boundary of human understanding.
After a spate of UFO sightings, as reported in the WHT over the last few months, Hertford Astronomy Group has decided to dedicate its monthly meeting at Hatfield Cricket Club, in Ascots Lane, WGC, to looking for evidence of extraterrestrials.
Programme organiser Alan Willison told the WHT: “We have noticed a number of reports in your paper over the last few months about sightings of UFOs.”
He added: “Following the BBC Stargazing Live programmes we are encouraging people to come along and start looking up into the sky and to learn more about what they can see.
“We know that by calling it a UFO watch we are open to ridicule, but until you know just what you are looking at then it is unidentified – it may or may not be flying but that is for you to determine.
“There will be opportunities to speak with local astronomers and look through some telescopes if the sky is clear.
“We will also be showing a video that has many people’s first hand experiences of encounters with UFOs including simultaneous sightings by thousands of people.
“It should prove to be a fascinating evening.”
The stargazing will take place from 7pm to 9pm.

UFO - Shag Harbour, Pan Am UFO Connection

By Shanksow

There was a recent article by Alexandra Holzer in the Huffington Post that connected the supposed UFO crash in Shag Harbour and a Pan Am Boeing 707 cargo jet flying out of New York to London.

Pan American World Airways pilot Captain Ralph Loewinger and his flight crew: co-pilot Captain Curt Olsen and flight engineer Mike Littlepage; plus there was another pilot and navigator that was with them on this trip. The Pan Am flight crew did not file a UFO report of the incident that took place on October 3, 1967. They were in contact with the Boston air traffic control center at the time of the encounter. Boston Center confirmed that there was no other traffic near the Beoing 707 at that time.

The Boeing 707 cargo aircraft was approaching Yarmouth, Nova Scotia at 33,000 feet when they spotted the UFO. Ralph Loewinger stated that the evening was quote: "clear, moonless and the lights of the south coast were plainly in view" end quote. The unknown "Lights" was at their eleven o'clock high position relative to their aircraft.

Both pilots kept their hands on the control yokes in case there was a chance to avoid a collision if need to.

On his return flight, Ralph Loewinger was listening to a Canadian radio station while the news announcer reproted that quote, "the RCMP had discontinued search operations for 'strange light formations reproted falling into the sea near Yarmouth." end quote.

This would appear to connect the Shag Harbour UFO with another group of witnesses. On the ground, the UFO that was seen by about 70 people from different vantage points disappeared underwater in Shag Harbour.

The seabed there has been checked over several times for unusual depressions. But it looks like that someone swept up the sea flood neatly leaving behind no clues. There was a History Channel program that focus on the Shag Harbour incident entitled "Deep Sea UFOs" that was aired on January 23, 2006. Ms. Holzer asked Captain Ralph Loewinger if he had seen this program and he confirmed that he did watch that show.

UFO cluster hovers over Harlem in New York

Date of sighting: January 12, 2012
Location of sighting: Harlem, New York, USA

"The video shows a fleet of orbs was seen over New York this week and was recorded by many eyewitnesses. The fact that so many videos of the incident exist rules out CGI. These glowing orbs have been seen around the world. Have a look below.

"I actually saw this near Taipei 101 (Taiwan) on New Years minute but they were too far away to show up on my phone camera. They look the same to me, and I watched them (recording), there were about 20-30 and they disappeared after 3 minutes. I recorded me hitting two of them with my green laser... two seconds after each hit...the UFO flashed a white light...very odd. Sadly...the UFOs were to far away to make out in the video.

Similar UFO clusters has been seen around the world. Last week a similar cluster was over Arizona and Brazil."
